The Northern Territory’s Police Association says it has serious concerns about the upcoming trail to legalize the sale of Capsicum Spray.
From September eligible people in the NT will be able to buy the OC spray to use as self-defense, but only under strict guidelines.
To be eligible you have to be over 18, have no criminal history and purchase the spray from a licensed NT dealer.

But the Police Association’s President Nathan Finn is angry there weren’t consulted with prior to the decision being made and has concerns the spray could be used for the wrong reasons by criminals.
