A man has been charged with attempted murder over a serious domestic violence incident in Alice Springs.
A 44-year-old man allegedly assaulted his 39-year-old female partner with an edged weapon before harming himself at an Araluen home on Sunday.
They were both taken to hospital, where the woman remains in a serious but stable condition.
The 44-year-old is also still in hospital under guard.
He has today been charged with attempted murder, acts intended to cause serious harm and breaching a domestic violence order.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant David Munro says the woman is on the mend.
“Thankfully the victim appears to be recovering from her injuries.”
