Man arrested in relation to Katherine fire

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to a structure fire in Katherine earlier on Thursday morning.  

Shortly before 6:00am, Police and fire crews were called to a business on Katherine Terrace after fire and smoke was seen at the front of the location.

The fire caused significant damage to the front of the business but was quickly extinguished by fire crews. The business was empty at the time and nobody was injured.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Byron May said “Police have established a crime scene this morning and arrested a 33-year-old man. This matter is now under investigation and police would like to speak with any witnesses or anyone that has relevant information.”
