A trial is underway allowing Territory cafes to offer reusable coffee cups to their customers.
A tender of $23,825 has been awarded to THE GOOD GOOD WAY, to work with Territory cafes and food and beverage outlets as part of the trial.
It’s hoped the trial will reduce our reliance on takeaway cups.
Coffee lovers can borrow a cup for a small deposit and return it at any participating café.
It’s part of the NT Government’s mission to crack down on single use plastics, with the trial expected to prevent more than 52,500 cups entering landfill.
It’s will run until July with 30 businesses set to take part.
The Territory Government has committed to phasing out certain problematic single use plastics by 2025.
