Police investigate six break-ins by group of offenders, Katherine

Investigations are ongoing after a group of offenders broke into five residential properties and a motel room in Katherine overnight.

Police say the unlawful entries occurred between 9.30pm last night and 3.00am this morning, in Katherine East.

Officers say a group of four male offenders threatened the occupants of the motel room with a machete, before fleeing the scene at around 2.40am.

Northern Watch Commander Tanya Woodcock says police are appealing to anyone who has information to come forward.

“General duties and crime officers responded, they set up crime scenes for forensic investigations,” she says.

“Indications are that we are dealing with one group of people who have repeatedly offended around Katherine suburbs.”

If you have dashcam or CCTV footage of a group of four males in the area from last night, police want to hear from you.
