Teen charged over break-in and theft of weapons from Darwin business

A teenager has been arrested over a break-in involving the theft of weapons at Casuarina Square.

It’s alleged the 17-year-old was with two other boys, aged 8 and 10 who stole a number of hunting items including a crossbow and selection of knives from a business at 8.30pm on Monday.

The 17-year-old was arrested in Malak yesterday and has since been charged with four offences including burglary, possession of a controlled weapon and theft.

He was remanded in custody to face court today, with the other kids referred to the Department of Territory Families.

Detectives have recovered most of the stolen items from known homes in the northern suburbs, with investigations ongoing.
