Two teens flee the scene after crashing alleged stolen car

Two teenagers have been arrested for crashing a stolen car in Darwin this morning.

The Toyota Echo Sedan was allegedly stolen from a home in Wagaman at around 4am.

Two hours later police watched the car through CCTV operators driving dangerously on McMillans Road, before crashing into another car at the intersection of Kalymnos drive.

Police say the teenagers, a 13-year-old boy and 18-year-old woman, fled from the scene of the crash, while the driver of the other car received medical treatment for injuries.

Strike Force Trident, the Dog Operations Unit and general duties officers later found the teenagers nearby and arrested them.

The pair are set to be charged with traffic and property offences later today.

Police are calling for any witnesses or anyone with information, particularly dash-cam footage of the stolen car, to contact them on 131 444.
