Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses to a domestic violence related hit and run in Palmerston.
Two women were walking along a pedestrian crossing near the Palmerston Bus Exchange, when a man, known to one of them allegedly sped up and drove his car towards them at about 3pm last Friday.
The vehicle mounted the kerb and struck both women in the legs before colliding with a parked car.
The man then allegedly got out of his vehicle and ran off, with both women sustaining minor injuries.
The 37-year-old man was arrested and charged a short time later with offences including recklessly endangering serious harm, intending to cause serious harm and dangerous driving.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Bentley hoping to track down the driver of a Ute (pictured).
“Police are particularly interested in speaking to the driver of a white single cab Mitsubishi Triton who was seen in the area at the time of the incident”.
“This vehicle was not involved in the hit and run; however, police believe the driver may be able to assist with enquiries”.
