Woman in hospital after alleged DV assault in Tennant Creek

A man is facing multiple charges after an alleged domestic violence assault in Tennant Creek.

The 31-year-old man allegedly assaulted his partner with a knife at a residence in Kargaru Camp before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services arrived and conveyed the 28-year-old woman to hospital in a serious condition, suffering from a number of lacerations to her chest and arms.

NT Police arrested the man on Wednesday morning, and he’s been charged with recklessly endangering life, unlawfully causing serious harm and using a controlled weapon at night.

The man is due to front court today.

Investigations around the domestic violence assault are continuing and the woman remains in hospital and is receiving treatment.
